Rock Shelf Setting

Jack and I adventure out quite a lot looking for diamond settings. Here in a deep gorge in Logan, the diamond pops against the dark shadows of overhangs. While shooting this setting, we happened to overhear the remarks of two very observant little boys, about 8 and 10.
"Mom, look at the size of that diamond!" (The parents were not looking, having tuned them out hours, possibly years ago...) I missed my first shot and aimed the camera ready to reshoot, waiting for it to cycle. I knew they were getting closer.
Jack said they were behind me, arms outstretched when I finished my shot, grabbed the diamond and shoved it on the front pocket of my hoodie.
They were left to wonder if they'd been seeing things.
